Our health guarantee
Every puppy goes home with this guarantee in writing, signed by both of us. What follows is the whole of it in plain order. The signed copy is the guarantee; this page is a summary of it.
We raise every puppy on a strict vaccination and deworming schedule, in a clean home, and we hand over a confident, well socialised puppy who has been loved since the day they were born.
What is covered
- Viral disease, seven days. Your puppy is guaranteed against viral disease for seven days after going home.
- Major genetic defects, one year. For one year from the purchase date, your puppy is guaranteed against major genetic defects affecting the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys and the like.
What you need to do
- A vet exam within 72 hours. This one is a condition. Your puppy must be examined by a veterinarian within 72 hours of going home or the guarantee is not valid. If the vet finds something abnormal, and it is not something we told you about before the sale, contact us straight away and send us copies of the vet’s report.
- Documentation before a claim. If a vet concludes your puppy has a serious genetic illness, tell us and send the paperwork from the vet. We review it and then talk to you about the outcome.
- In the event of death within seven days, a necropsy is required, arranged and paid for by the owner, and the findings sent to us before any exchange or reimbursement.
How a claim is settled
Once we have the veterinarian’s documentation and have reviewed it, you can bring the puppy back in exchange for another puppy of equal or lesser value, or we reimburse you in part or in whole at our discretion. Credit never exceeds the purchase price of your puppy.
What is not covered
- Hypoglycemia, coccidia, giardia, colds and upper respiratory infections, and other minor illness.
- Veterinary bills are yours. We care about these puppies long after they leave, but we cannot take on medical expenses, death, allergies, training difficulties or behaviour problems once a puppy is in your home.
Anything we already know about, including cosmetic issues or any surgery before go-home, is written on your copy and told to you before you commit. You sign to say you were made aware of it.
Ask us anything about this before you reserve. We would rather explain it twice than surprise anyone once.
